HERA Foundation
One in 57 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year. It affects mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. With early detection 90% will survive. Currently, only 24% of ovarian cancer is caught early.
Our Mission
The mission of the HERA Women's Cancer Foundation is to stop the loss of mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, wives, partners and girlfriends from ovarian cancer through empowering:
- Women to take control of their health,
- Research Scientists to find new directions in early detection, treatment, and prevention, and
- Communities to provide support.
Our Vision
We are a nationally recognized ovarian cancer nonprofit organization funding cutting edge research grants to leading young scientists at respected medical institutions. In so doing we expand the scientific understanding of ovarian cancer while improving the lives of those battling this disease.
Through our programs of awareness of symptoms, education, and medical access as well as our Climb for LifeSM and auxilliary special events, we empower healthy women and those undergoing treatment.
We are well led by an outstanding Executive Director and committed Board of Directors. We are supported by young scientist researchers, their organizations, over 55 firms, hundreds of climbing leaders, and over a thousand yearly participants.
We are committed to continue investing 85% of the money raised for research, awareness, education, and support.
